ADHD drug used by white collar workers to boost performance at workplace

ADHD drugWhite-collar workers use a variety of prescription drugs which are given to patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity or ADHD to boost their performance at workplace.

Regulators have also come to know that these workers also use various amphetamine based stimulants to improve performance and to stay alert at workplace, some use prescription medications like Adderall, Vyvanse, Concerta among other things.

Doctors say that misuse of the drugs can cause addiction, hallucination and anxiety and it is dangerous.

Many of them get the drugs through illegal dealers and some of them pretend to suffer from ADHD so that they can get a medical prescription.

College students have been found using Adderall and its use in office is just a development from what obtains in academic institutions across the country.

Dr. Wilson Compton, the deputy director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse said, “Given the increase in rates of abuse in college students over the last decade, it is essential that we understand the outcomes as they leave college and assume adult roles.”

Federal law has categorized some legal stimulants as vitamins and they can be purchased at the medical store without prescription, this can be considered one of the reasons for many users to go for them as well.

Nootropics is another drug which the office workers are using to stay active and improve performance when they are staying long at work.

The pills are found to contain amino acids, herb extracts, caffeine and other ingredients that improve memory performance, and they are bought online in labeled bottles.

US Food and Drug Administration or FDA must look into the matter and see to regulate the use of the stimulants.
