Scientists are searching for extraterrestrial life from many years and they have never found evidence of life, the recent search for alien life in 100,000 galaxies has no result, as they couldn’t find any sign of life there.
The theory that aliens might be visible is based on idea of physicist Freeman Dyson who said that the alien might be using star light for their purpose and they emit mid-infrared emissions which is considered an evidence for alien life, but back then it was not possible to measure those radiations but the NASA’s WISE space telescope made it possible.
The researchers from the Penn State University have analyzed data from the NASA satellite, WISE or Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer. The researchers are looking for infrared radiation that the galactic civilization might be using for their purpose.
Jason T. Wright, an astronomer and astrophysicist at the university’s Center for Exoplanets and Habitable Worlds said, “The idea behind our research is that, if an entire galaxy had been colonized by an advanced spacefaring civilization, the energy produced by that civilization’s technologies would be detectable in mid-infrared wavelengths – exactly the radiation that the WISE satellite was designed to detect for other astronomical purposes.”
Researchers have analyzed 100 million galaxies were examined for the evidence of galaxies which is emitting more infrared radiation than the natural process would emit and they have found about 100,000 galactic images.
Of the 100,000 galaxies identified from the WISE survey, around 50 of them have shown some unusual radiation. Researchers are not sure whether these radiations are caused by natural phenomenon or it is an evidence of alien life.
Wright said, “Our results mean that, out of the 100,000 galaxies that WISE could see in sufficient detail, none of them is widely populated by an alien civilization using most of the starlight in its galaxy for its own purposes.”
In billions of years of these galaxies there might be alien life which has developed using the advanced technology.
Either they are not using enough energy for the researchers to recognize or they may not exist.
Wright said, “Whether an advanced spacefaring civilization uses the large amounts of energy from its galaxy’s stars to power computers, space flight, communication, or something we can’t yet imagine, fundamental thermodynamics tells us that this energy must be radiated away as heat in the mid-infrared wavelengths.”
