Opelousas Woman in Custody for Beating Uncle to Death Because He Wouldn’t Shut Up

March 15, 2018 By Stephen Kenwright Leave a Comment

Opelousas Woman in Custody

The Opelousas woman use a flashlight among other items to beat her uncle to death.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies recently arrested a 49-year-old woman and charged her with second-degree murder. According to the authorities, the woman beat uncle to death because the man wouldn’t stop talking. The woman claimed she was raped in her sleep by the victim.

Opelousas Woman Sais Her Uncle Sexually Assaulted Her

Last week, the St. Landry Parish law enforcement officials arrested 49-year-old Melissa Ann Credeur, an Opelousas resident.

According to the official police records, last week, the woman dialed 911 and told the dispatcher that her uncle, later identified as John R. Gautreaux, sexually assaulted. When the authorities arrived, they’ve discovered Gautreaux’s body in Credeur’s bedroom.

The woman told the authorities that while she was fast asleep, the man came into her bedroom and raped her. After she finished, the Gautreaux allegedly fell asleep on top of his victim.

Credeur also told the sheriff’s deputies that at one point she realized that her uncle was no longer breathing and that she attempted to move him. Moreover, the Opelousas woman claimed that after she finished moving her uncle, she began hitting him with her fists in order to resuscitate the man.

However, the authorities began to suspect that they might have been misled by the woman. A Sheriff’s deputy declared that the man’s body was found in the fetal position as if he was trying to protect himself against something.

The coroner’s report revealed that the body presented multiple bruises and injuries which are not consistent with life-saving maneuvers. A medical investigation also uncovered that the woman was never raped.

Conclusion

After being confronted with this new evidence, Credeur confessed to beating her uncle to death because she grew weary of his chattering. The authorities revealed that the suspect used various household objects to pummel the victim such as metal fan, pencils, paintbrushes, and a flashlight.

Skeletal Remains Found in Wall Space by New Tenants

March 2, 2018 By Stephen Kenwright Leave a Comment

Skeletal remains

Houston authorities skeletal remains and clothing belonging to woman who went missing in 2015.

The Houston authorities reported that the skeletal remains of a woman reported missing in 2015 have been found by a couple who recently bought her house. According to the coroner’s office, the woman passed away after getting stuck in the narrow space between the walls. IDing the body was difficult, since the woman led a secluded life, being seen only in the company of her cats.

Skeletal Remains Indicate No Trauma or Foul Play

Harris County Coroner’s report reveals that the skeletal remains found by the couple who purchased the Houston home probably belong to 61-year-old Mary Stewart Cerrutti, the home’s former owner. The investigation revealed that the woman led a secluded life, using wallpaper to cover her windows and preferring the company of cats to that of humans.

Identifying Cerrutti’s remains proved to be a difficult task, as the woman had no children, and no living relatives, save for some distant cousins.  The woman was last seen alive in February 2013, where a camera caught her talking during the Houston Planning Commission. Although the woman voiced her opinion regarding the housing development, which she was opposed to, the tape reveals little less.

The police began investigating her disappearance in 2015 after a group of concerned neighbors saw that the mail was piling in front of her home and that one window was broken.

As for the unfortunate couple who made the grim discovery, the authorities noted that the new tenants realized something might be amiss when they started to discover human remains in the house. At first, it was but some decaying hand bones, but after inspecting the space between the walls, the couple discovered the whole human remains.

Conclusion

The authorities recovered a skull, rotting bones, clothing, and personal items belonging to the victim. As to the death of Cerrutti, the deputies hypothesized that she might have been in the attic looking for something when a board came loose, and the victim fell, getting stuck in the narrow space between the walls.

Illinois man and hammer

Illinois man arrested for hiring teen to murder his parents with a hammer.

The Illinois authorities recently arrested a 23-year-old man and his 18-year-old teenage friend for allegedly trying to kill the man’s parents. According to the authorities, the couple suffered severe injuries during the assault. Both men have been arrested and are currently being held in county jail without bail.

Illinois Man Paid the Assassin to ‘Scare Off’ His Parents

Michael Targo, an 18-year-old Illinois teenager, was taken in police custody after allegedly attacking an Illinois couple with a hammer. According to the police report, the events began to unfold on Sunday, at about 2:50 a.m., when a woman called the authorities from a house located in the Glen Ellyn suburb.

The caller told the authorities that a masked individual entered their home and assaulted herself and her husband with a hammer. Minutes later, the authorities arrived the couple’s home and took both of them to the hospital. The couple arrived in critical, but stable condition.

After combing the neighborhood, the authorities managed to arrest Michael Targo. During his police interview, Targo admitted that the attack on the couple was not random, claiming that another man hired him in order to inflict critical injuries on the man and woman.

The investigation led them to a 23-year-old Illinois man, later identified as Joshua Miceli, the couple’s son. Frank Bibbiano, the DuPage County Undersheriff, declared that Miceli offered Targo an undisclosed sum of money in order to commit the deed.

Conclusion

Still, when confronted with the incident, the suspect could not provide a plausible motive as to why he solicited the services of Targo. The Illinois man and his accomplice were booked into county jail without bail.

Targo and Miceli have been charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder. In addition, Miceli has been charged with one count of soliciting murder.

North Carolina Substitute Teacher Barred from School After Slamming a 12-Year-Old Student

North Carolina Substitute Teacher Fired

North Carolina substitute teacher barred from teaching for body slamming student over Valentine’s Day candy.

A North Carolina substitute teacher has been suspended after a video posted on Facebook shows the man pinning a 12-year-old student to the wall and throwing him over the shoulder. The student said that the incident occurred after the teacher allegedly took away the student’s box of Valentine’s Day chocolate.

North Carolina Substitute Teacher Under Fire for Assaulting Student

Paul Stennett, a 49-year-old substitute teacher, will face public and possibly legal backlashes, following a seconds-long video posted on Facebook by a Western Guilford Middle School student.

According to Nora Carr, the Guildford County Schools’ Chief of Staff, the event which featured Stennett and Jose Escudero, his 12-year-old student, occurred this Wednesday but was not discovered until Friday when the boy’s mother begun criticizing Stennett’s teaching methods.

Although the authorities have been notified about the incident, they have yet to issue an arrest warrant for the North Carolina substitute teacher, as the video only captures the last few moments of the incident.

However, based on eyewitness accounts, it would appear that Escudero brought to school a box full of Valentine’s Day candy, probably to share with classmates. Irked by the student’s gesture, Stennett grabbed the box of candy just as the student attempted to place it inside the backpack.

Stennett went back to his place, while Escudero followed him in order to ask why he took the box of candy. According to the students, just as Escudero reached for the candy box Stennett placed on his desk, the North Carolina substitute teacher grabbed him and pinned the student against the wall.

Seconds later, the teacher can be seen grabbing the student by his waist, raising him in the air like he was a sack of grain, and threw him over the shoulder.

Conclusion

Following the incident, the North Carolina substitute teacher was barred from teaching, and the boy’s mother said that she would file a lawsuit against him and the school.

NASA to Send Robonaut Back to Earth for Repairs

February 16, 2018 By Stephen Kenwright Leave a Comment

Robonaut

NASA decided to send Robonaut down to Earth for repairs.

During a recent press statement, a NASA spokesperson declared that Robonaut, the long-armed robotic assistant designed to aid astronauts in their tasks, will be decommissioned and sent back to Earth for repairs. The robot stopped working in 2015, following a series of hardware upgrades that went wrong.

Robonaut Could Not Be Repaired on the International Space Station

Shipped to the International Space Station in 2011, Robonaut should have become a functioning member of the ISS scientific community, helping astronauts performing their daily tasks. According to a NASA spokesperson, when Robonaut first arrived, it only had a pair of arms, a gold-plated head, and just a torso.

After being activated, Robonaut was programmed to keep an eye on oxygen levels and to keep the handrails neat and clean. Over the years, the crew added tentacle-like limbs which should have theoretically enhanced the robot’s functionality, being able to perform even more tasks.

However, during the installation and hardware upgrade process, something went wrong, and Robonaut simply stopped working. At that time, NASA concluded that the astronauts didn’t have the necessary expertise to upgrade Robonaut’s hardware, which led to a system malfunction.

According to the spokesperson, the upgrade process shouldn’t have taken more than 20 hours, but the astronauts completed it in roughly 40 hours. Since 2015, Robonaut lies dormant in one of the pressurized bays, waiting to spring into action.

Conclusion

Recently, NASA has decided that it’s high time the robot gets the care it deserves. The robot will be sent to Earth, where the NASA technicians will attempt to make the necessary repairs. Diagnostics revealed that the problem lies in the robot’s grounding, meaning that the electric current doesn’t flow the way it should throughout its body, powering out some circuits, while flying others.

The robotic astronaut is expected to return to the space station in the following years.

Arkansas couple arrested

Arkansas couple admits to chaining 8-year-old child to furniture and starving him.

A couple from Fayetteville, Arkansas was recently taken into custody for torturing an 8-year-old child. The Arkansas couple allegedly starved the child on purpose and would chain the child to the furniture while eating in the kitchen.

Arkansas Couple Denies Child Torture Allegations

Melissa Miranda, 33, and Josue Tovias, 28, were recently arrested and charged with multiple counts of child abuse after the authorities learned that the Arkansas couple has been torturing an 8-year-old infant.

The authorities have been alerted by concerned teachers from the Owl Creek School, who noticed that the child was behaving strangely during class and lunch break. One of the teachers told the law enforcement officers that the child was complaining about several occasions of pains in his legs.

Also, over the past months, the 8-year-old lost a lot of weight, and on one occasion, the child seemed to have back bleeding. Furthermore, during lunch break, the child would ask for extra food and started crying when he was refused.

The authorities were called, and a child abuse investigation ensued.  After talking to the 8-year-old, the law enforcement officers went to his home where they’ve arrested the Arkansas couple.

During their police interview, the Arkansas couple admitted to disciplining the child. Also, Miranda told the authorities that she would often handcuff the child to a piece of furniture and left him there for hours at an end.

The authorities also managed to explain the child’s odd lunchbreak behavior after interviewing the Arkansas couple. They would seldom feed the child, and every time they did it, they would offer him morsels.

Miranda also admitted to chaining the child to furniture and left him there to play or to read a book while the couple was eating in the kitchen. The Arkansas couple was charged with secondary domestic battery, kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threats and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Oregon Boy Passes Away After Contracting Flesh-Eating Bacteria

January 28, 2018 By Stephen Kenwright Leave a Comment

Flesh-eating bacteria.

Oregon boy passed away at Portland hospital after contracting flesh-eating bacteria.

An 8-year-old boy recently passed away at a Portland Children’s Hospital after contracting flesh-eating bacteria. The boy’s parents said that his symptoms started to surface after a minor injury he sustained while riding his bike.

Minor Bike Accident Invites Flesh-Eating Bacteria

Sara Hebard, the mother of 8-year-old Liam Flanagan, declared that her son was out playing outside, riding his bike down a hill. The event that would change the family’s life forever took place on the 13th of January.

While riding his bike down the slope, Liam lost control and crashed into a dirt mount. During his fall, the bike’s handlebar came loose and lacerated Liam’s thigh. After arriving home and telling his parents what happened, the family decided to take him to the local hospital.

As the laceration was deep enough, Liam required seven stitches. However, the doctors decided that the wound was a minor one and did not require antibiotics. Liam was sent home and expected to make a complete recovery.

Still, the days went by, and the Oregon boy did not show any signs of improvement. More than that, the child complained of pain in the sutured area. His parents first dismissed this sign, as this was the boy’s first injury which required stitches.

However, several days later, the child complained that the pain was much worse and, after undressing him, his parents discovered that his entire side area was discolored. A second trip to the hospital followed.

After consulting the boy, the doctors decided to airlift him to a Portland hospital for emergency surgery, as he has contracted necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating bacteria.

Despite the doctors’ best efforts to stem the infection through amputations and antibiotics, the boy passed away several days later at the hospital. The family has set up a GoFundMe account to cover for Liam’s medical and funeral expenses.

Brooklyn Rapper Kodak Black in Police Custody

January 20, 2018 By Stephen Kenwright Leave a Comment

Kodak Black

Kodak Black has recently been arrested in Broward.

Dieuson Octave, better known as Kodak Black, has been recently arrested in Broward.  The rapper, who has amassed a lengthy criminal record, has been charged with child neglect, marijuana possession, and violating the terms of his probation, among others.

Kodak Black Booked into Fort Lauderdale Jail

According to the Broward authorities, Dieuson Octave, known to his fan as Kodak Black, was arrested on Thursday. Black has been charged with two counts of violating probation, marijuana possession, child neglect, and grand theft of firearms.

The man was under house arrest since June the 5th when he got to prison for serving in an early release program. According to the authorities, Black’s criminal career goes back to when he was 14 years of age, being arrested multiple times for marijuana possession, battery, fleeing from police officers, driving with a suspended license, false imprisonment of a child and false imprisonment of an adult.

Black’s first recorded arrest was in 2015 in Pompano Beach, where the rapper was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing from the authorities, armed robbery, false imprisonment, and driving with an invalid license.

The Brooklyn rapper will again be arrested in Broward County in 2016 for the same Pompano Beach charges and placed under house arrest. However, given his criminal background, Kodak Black would violate the term of his house probation and later booked into jail, where he would remain until the 5th of June.

Among another thing, the rapper is accused of sexual conduct in South Carolina. The act that landed him in jail after his house arrest is that he failed to ask his supervisor for permission to leave the premises.

Conclusion

Despite Black’s criminal records, it would appear that his rapping career is booming, the rapper having over 5 million Instagram followers and a new single on the way.

Six-Year-Old Florida Boy Dies After Being Bit by Rabid Bat

January 16, 2018 By Stephen Kenwright Leave a Comment

Rabit bat

A six-year-old boy from Florida died after being bit by a rabid bat.

A six-year-old boy from Florida died shortly after being bit by a rabid bat. The boy’s doctors declared that once rabies symptoms start to emerge, the disease takes a deadly turn in most of the cases. Milwaukee protocol therapy did not improve the child’s condition.

Rabid Bat Captured by Boy’s Father

Henry Roque of Eustis, Florida recalls seeing a bat flying around the family’s porch. Out of concern for his family’s wellbeing and their pets, Roque decided to dispose of the bat. The man told the reporters that after capturing it, he placed a bucket on top of it and specifically told his son, six-year-old Ryker Roque not to play around with it.

But then, children will be children, and Ryker went ahead and lifted the bucket to take a closer look at the bat his father capture. The child withdrew his hand quickly and ran towards his father that the rabid bat scratched his hand.

Roque told the reporters that he searched on Google what to do in case you are bitten by a bat and told his son to rush to the bathroom and wash his hands with plenty of soap and hot water for at least five minutes.

The father intended to take the son to the emergency room but abandoned the idea after the boy told him that he doesn’t want to get any shots.

A week later, Ryker started experiencing some strange symptoms like numbness in his fingers and a terrible headache. Fearing the worst, Roque took his son to the local hospital.

He told the doctor’s that an allegedly rabid bat might have bit his son. Despite the treatment he received, including the experimental Milwaukee protocol, the six-year-old boy passed away at the hospital several days later.

Roque’s parents set up a GoFundMe account in the hope of raising the money necessary for covering the boy’s hospital expenses and funeral arrangements.

Many Games in the Play Store Activate Your Microphone to Record What You’re Viewing on TV

January 4, 2018 By Stephen Kenwright Leave a Comment

Playing Candy Crush on a smartphone

The games recorded TV data through your microphone for ad targeting

You probably know you are not safe from ads not even when you’re playing games, but the way in which they reach you is at least unusual. A recent report revealed over 250 games present on Google Play Store track down your TV watching habits through your microphone. This is possible through a software called Alphonso, which records audio signals released by TV shows through the device’s mic.

The software controls the microphone of your device

Ads will soon get everywhere, and the chances to run from them get slimmer every day. The Alphonso software is used to run a series of games, most of them are targeted towards children. It makes use of the microphone and picks up TV signals, and then sells them to companies and advertisers for market research and targeting.

Your conversations won’t get recorded, so the privacy violation is not that huge. However, if you leave the games running in the background, the microphone will record the signals issued by the TV. They can do it at a distance, or even if you leave your phone in your pocket.

The microphone tracks down your TV viewing habits

Alphonso’s CEO admitted that the company did record TV audio samples. Apart from advertisers, it has also collaborated with film makers through using the microphone in film theaters. Not all people turn off their phones when going to the movies, which has been used to the benefit of these companies.

This sounds like a violation of privacy, but these apps actually inform the users they are about to use the microphone of their smartphone to monitor their TV viewership habits. They are actually forced by Google and Apple to notify users of these practices, but few actually read the terms and conditions before hitting the agree button. Also, they can choose anytime to stop using the software and disable it from using the mic
