Bywater authorities recently arrested a 45-year-old father who admitted stabbing his 18-months-old daughter to death because God ordered him to put the child out of its misery. The Bywater resident will undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine if he’s fit to stand trial.
Bywater Resident Waited Five Hours for His Daughter to Die
Mark Hambrick, a 45-year-old Bywater resident, was recently arrested and charged with first-degree homicide after the authorities learned that the man repeatedly stabbed his 18-months-old daughter before strangling her.
Hambrick, who is a licensed internal audit analyst, confessed that it was God’s will for the child to die and that he merely carried out his will. After his wife left the house, the man took up a knife from the kitchen and repeatedly stabbed the toddler.
According to the coroner’s report, the toddler didn’t die as a result of the stabbing attack, and that it agonized for several hours. Hambrick said that after watching his child agonizing for five hours, he strangled her before notifying the authorities.
When the law enforcement officers arrived, the Bywater resident was sitting and waiting for their arrival on the front porch. He didn’t resist the arrest.
When the authorities entered Hambrick’s house, they’ve discovered the toddler in the middle of the living room with no vital signs.
During his police interview, Hambrick claimed that God commanded him to murder his child and that the extreme gesture carried the promise of redemption. The Bywater citizen was booked in county jail.
Prior to the court’s proceedings, the man is going to be examined by a psychiatrist to determine if the man’s mentally fit to stand trial. The authorities are currently waiting for Hambrick’s tox-screen to determine if he consumed drugs before the murder.
