A California coffee shop was praised after a supervisor refused to serve a customer who insulted a Muslim woman. The Islamophobic customer was asked to leave the locale. An independent journalist uploaded the video of the encounter to his Twitter account.
Islamophobic Customer Said that the Woman’s Religion Kill People
Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, small chain of coffee shops, managed to earn the public’s respect following an incident which occurred on Friday.
The protagonist is an unknown white man who got into an argument with another customer who was waiting in line.
Based on the video, which was uploaded to CJ Werleman’s Twitter account, the individual in question was waiting for a server to take his order when he spotted a woman wearing a niqab standing behind him.
The man can be heard asking her something about Halloween. After that, the man began making racist comments about the woman’s apparel.
The highlight of their verbal joust was when the individual blatantly declared that he abhors her religion because it teaches them to kill people.
Following his comment, the woman asked him if he at least read the Koran. The Islamophobic customer responded that he read enough of it and that he doesn’t want to die.
Their conversation ended after a coffee shop supervisor walked up to the man and told him to leave the shop.
When the woman asked the supervisor about why she’s not serving the irate customer, the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf employee simply said that the individual is disrupting a public place with his racist remarks.
The video detailing the encounter received plenty of likes and was shared countless times on social media.
One account owner even commented that Starbucks might have a thing or two to learn from the coffee shop.
