Warner Bros will remove Henry Cavill’s moustache using CGI
For two months, Warner Bros has been reshooting its top superhero movie, Justice League. Apart from the extra costs of rescheduling, which exceed $25 million, the studio is facing some other problems which might slow down the filming process. One of these would be Superman’s moustache.
Huge extra costs for Justice League reshooting
The Justice League stars, including Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, or Ben Affleck, keep travelling between Los Angeles, London, and many other locations to reshoot the superhero movie. This rescheduling does not come without trouble, as the movie studio has to face some challenges which make the work more difficult.
The reshooting has already lasted more than any other production schedules for other movies, causing some financial losses. Warner Bros has already spent more than $25 million for them. As a comparison, reshoots for other popular movies cost between $6 million and $10 million.
Henry Cavill has to have his moustache removed
Some of the Justice League stars are not working on other projects at the moment, but this isn’t the case for all of them. Henry Cavill, for example, has to switch between Justice League and Mission Impossible 6. One further problem would be the fact that the latter project required him to let his moustache grow.
Paramount, the studio which produces the sixth Mission Impossible movie, refuses to let Cavill shave his moustache for the Superman role he is going to play in Justice League. This is why Warner Bros will have to use CGI to remove it.
This couldn’t let the internet indifferent, as Superman’s moustache removal sparked a lot of reactions and commentaries. Most fans want it to be kept intact, as it might suit the character better. Some of them even provided photographic evidence from the comics that the superhero sometimes wore a moustache.

Unfortunately for them, the decision stays and the studio will digitally remove Superman’s facial hair. Apart from this, Justice League will also feature a new director, Joss Whedon. The actors have trust in him, and declared they were sure he was going to make a great director.
