Smartwatches are not yet appreciated by some people who prefer to wear traditional timepieces, but the Chronos system is one of the best ideas that are trying to close this gap. The device is a little metal disk that changes any wearable into a modern smart watch. It is only 33mm wide and 2mm thick with an almost imperceptible weight.
It is water resistant and a tiny suction area on its rear allows it to be attached under the watch, between the device and the hand. Under the case, there is a series of receptors, some LEDs, a vibration system and a small battery, incorporating various options met only in smart watches to conventional items.
Attaching Chronos to a case back is as simple as placing stickers on a small surface, and it is also easily removable with a fingernail below the disk. The attachment is waterproof and you do not have to worry about losing it unintentionally.
Chronos arrives with a little charging pad that will provide more than 30 hours of regular use after only a couple hours of charging. The producer says that no internal component of Chronos or in its charger can magnetize the watch, so the device does not have to be detached from the watch while charging it.
It can be used on many timepieces and it works best on those with a flat surface and smoother straps. Domed and rounded case backs look and feel a bit girthed with the disk on the rear. Metal wristbands have to be modified to allow the additional thickness without being uncomfortable for the wearer. This will not be an important problem when you use the Chronos on a daily basis, but it can easily get noticeable for a person wearing it once in a while.
The dedicated app is simple and the installing procedure really simple, even for those who are not familiar with modern gadgets. It tells you to synchronize it with the product and transfers your health information from its iOS HealthKit, but it can also work with fitness applications on Android platforms.
Sports activities, effective calorie burning and various types of physical exercising are the primary targets, while the interface is smooth and easily readable, displaying user actions across the entire day in a digital band. It will have some exclusive health and fitness features incorporated into it, but now it operates with current ones.
Another main feature of Chronos is represented by it notifications. Every type of notice can have one of its eight vibration options and colors of LEDs, or none at all. It has two levels of notifications: app-specific and person-specific.
For the second type, you can attach a certain contact its own pair of flash and vibration whenever the respective person calls or sends you a message, whether it is via a mobile device, e-mail service or other contact app. In addition, applications can also have their own notification styles, which will be standard ones, unless certain contacts are allocated unique features.
