Ever since we were children and afraid of the dark, parents have been telling us that there’s no boogeyman hiding in the closet or under our beds. The following story shows that sometimes not everything our parents tell us our true. A Florida veteran got the shock of his life when he discovered a dangerous escaped inmate hiding from the police in his closet.
Florida Veteran Told Cops That Suspect Was Looking to Change Clothes
Herman Jackson is an 87-year-old Florida resident and a war veteran. Since the war ended, Jackson described his life as being uneventful until last Thursday when he made quite a startling discovery while investigating a strange sound coming from the living room.
According to the Florida veteran’s statement, he was just about to turn in when he heard a rustling noise coming from behind his living room’s sliding doors. When he went to investigate, the veteran discovered a man, later identified as Alexander Koretsky, standing in the middle of his living room and staring at him.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Koretsky attempted to explain that he means no harm and that he wanted a glass of water. The Florida veteran told the authorities that before he had a chance to talk to the suspect, he grabbed a glass from the kitchen, drank it, and run out the front door.
More than that, it would appear that the suspect was looking for something more than water when he entered Jackson’s house. While searching the living room, Jackson found that the suspect rummaged through his closet, probably looking to change his clothes.
Later that day, Koretsky was taken into custody. Using his confession, the authorities also arrested 26-year-old Shelby Adams, the man’s girlfriend, and also a fugitive. Both suspects have a long criminal record.
