We might see more Crash Bandicoot games in the future
Activision has just released the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, both in the US, as well as in the UK. Most fans are probably delighted that they finally get to enjoy the games, but some of them have been pondering the future of the series. The video game company knew this issue has been bugging fans for quite long, and decided to comment on the matter.
Will the Crash Bandicoot series continue from now on?
Eric Hirshberg, the CEO of Activision, knows many fans are wondering what the future of the Crash Bandicoot series will be. Therefore, he gave an interview in which he talked about the recently released trilogy, and dropped a few hints regarding future games. However, he didn’t reveal much about what’s coming.
He didn’t offer a clear confirmation that the studio is working on other titles. However, he didn’t exclude the possibility to return to the series either. The studio loves experimenting with Crash Bandicoot, and definitely wants to do so in the future.
The future looks bright
What the developers don’t know is how extensive this fanbase is. They cannot be sure if the excitement is spread over a much larger community, or only the nostalgia-stricken gamers are looking forward to new releases in the Crash Bandicoot series. But the dedication to the series seems great, so this might convince them to continue.
It is understandable why Activision doesn’t rush into creating new Crash Bandicoot titles, since the series is almost twenty years old. However, if they might judge from sales, and then from the warm welcome the trilogy has received, then we might say there are big chances the series will continue.
What Activision is most likely to work on next would be a remake of Crash’s racing game from 1999 called Crash Team Racing. However, a new iteration of the entire platforming might not go wrong either.
