Indiana Man Shot Victim After Oxycodone Spat, Authorities Declared
An Indiana Police Department spokesperson confirmed that on Monday, the police officers arrested 42-year-old Dwight Shotts, following a peculiar 911 call.
Based on the police report, the individual, who should definitely receive the most ‘intelligent’ criminal award, called the emergency line and informed the operator that he can no longer stay in his house. When the dispatcher asked him about his problem, the man calmly replied that there’s a foul odor coming from his bathroom.
More than that, the individual actually said that the smell is probably coming from the dead body he placed in the tub (seriously, dude?!?).
When the law enforcement officers arrived at Shotts’ house, they’ve found the body of an individual inside the man’s tub, just like the Indiana man said. The man was promptly arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
During his police interview, Shotts confessed to gunning down his victim, later identified as 35-year-old Anthony Cline and keeping his body in the tub for a week because he ‘panicked’ and didn’t know what else to do.
Conclusion
When asked why he killed Cline, the Indiana man first declared that he was supposed to meet Cline about an oxycodone transaction and that he shot him because he tried to swindle him. However, Shotts later changed his confession, claiming that another individual entered his home and killed Cline because he owed him money.
According to the coroner’s report, Cline’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
