Los Angeles firefighters say nearly two dozen people suffered injuries and mostly of them were minors.
In Saturdays crash 21 people were hurt, all of their injuries were minor, says Fire Department spokesman Shawn Lenske.
One person in the car was critically injured.
Three passenger cars of the train were derailed, said Lenske.
Near the University of Southern California campus, south of the downtown, the crash happened just before 11 a.m.
Officials of Metrolink, who operates the train, did not immediately return the call for a moment.
The cause of the crash and the details on the extent of injuries were not available.
