Target made a small mistake when they accidentally listed the sequel to the game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Middle-earth: Shadow of War was discovered on the website six months before its release by user DeathByBacklog.
Target took action immediately and they removed the game from the website, but avid fans have already taken screenshots of the listing. It states that the sequel will be bringing back the classic Nemesis System that was part of the old game. Also, if you were curious about the story of Celebrimbor and Talion, Shadow of War will continue the story.
The producer, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, will take back the old developer Monolith Productions.
The storyline goes like this. Talion and Celebrimbor have to cooperate and build together a new ring of power that they can use in the fight against Sauron. However, the listing showed that the Gold Edition available in the U.S. for $100 would contain two Nemesis Expansions, as well as two story expansions, and a special item, the Gold War Chest.
The Nemesis Expansions have prepared new enemies, tribes, and missions, while the story expansions contain brand new characters and campaigns.
GameSpot claims that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will only be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, this does not mean that it will never be available for the PC. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor came out in a PC version, too, so the sequel should have a PC version, too, at some point.
Thus, the listing showed that the Gold Edition of the game will contain several expansions and items. The Nemesis Expansions are Slaughter Tribe and Outlaw Tribe, the story expansions are The Blade of Galadriel and The Desolation of Mordor. The Gold Edition will also contain the Gold War Chest and over $125 in total value.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was released in 2014 and it featured events from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. The heroes were Talion and Celebrimbor that would start working together to take revenge on Sauron for the death of their loved ones.
The sequel will bring those two together again. They destroyed Sauron’s physical body in the first game, but they need to forge a ring of power to destroy his spirit. They need to travel to Tolkien’s Legendarium to see what materials they need for their quest.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is bound to be released in August 2017, so fans will have to wait a little more until they can play the game.
