Christina and Mark Rotondo, the New York couple who was involved in a legal battle for the last couple of weeks with their 30-year-old son, won the trial on Tuesday. Syracuse Judge Donald Greenwood granted the eviction, thus putting an end to the Rotondo family drama.
New York Couple Said Son Still Engaged in Custody Battle
On Tuesday, Judge Donald Greenwood granted Michael Rotondo’s eviction. The judge, who sided with Michael’s parents since the beginning of the trial, declared that the 30-year-old should go out and try to make a name for himself.
The Rotondos were dragged into court at the beginning of May, after Michael refused to vacate the couple’s house, despite receiving five letters and money.
Mark and Christina Rotondo declared that Michael moved in with them eight years ago shortly after he lost his livelihood. Michael was also involved in a custody battle over his son.
His parents described their son as a person who sat around all day on his devices, never doing anything. In fact, Mark and Christina told Judge Greenwood that in all those years, Michael never paid rent or helped them around the house.
The conflict between Michael and the New York couple escalated in February, soon after Mark and Christina began handing him notices.
A total of five letters were delivered to Michael; all of them ignored. In their last letter, the New York couple threatened to sue him if he did not leave the house. More than that, they’ve even offered him money and advice on how to get a job.
Michael’s attitude was the thing that led to his losing the trial.
After Greenwood passed sentence, Michael declared that he would be writing a letter to the couple’s attorney to ask for more time.3
