The genome project was developed by an international team of researchers. They discovered new molecular evolutionary results. These results might show more about seahorse. This fish with unique characteristics wasn’t studied until now.
This study focused more on the unusual things that this fish has. One of those characteristics is the male pregnancy. There is no other fish or animal that has this feature. The seahorse male is the only male animal that carries their offspring. Other species let their female take this task.

The male pregnancy was explained by their genome too. The gene that is linked to the ability to get pregnant and giving birth is expanded when it comes to the seahorse. This is why a male seahorse is able to carry the “babies”.
