Bre Tiesi, who has nearly one-year-old son Legendary Love Cannon with host and actor Nick Cannon, recently discussed child support on an episode of Selling Sunset.
Tiesi claimed that Cannon might not have to pay child support for all of his 12 children, simply because there are so many of them. However, Tiesi's lawyer, Neama Rahmani, corrected her assumption, stating that “Nick, or any father, is obligated to pay child support under California law regardless of the number of children he has.”
Despite Tiesi's statement, Cannon himself has expressed that he supports his children financially and emotionally. He stated in a November 2022 interview that he spends more than $3 million annually on his children, and in a May 2023 interview, he said that the mothers of his children can have “whatever they want, whatever they ask for.” Cannon also opened up about his financial situation and involvement in his children's lives. “I've been villainized,” he said. “I hear all the time: ‘You can't be present for all those children.' So therefore I get this deadbeat dad title.”
In addition to his various gigs, including hosting The Masked Singer and Wild ‘N Out, acting, and producing, Cannon is a father to 12 children ranging in age from 6 months to 12 years old. He welcomes children with ex-wife Mariah Carey, Brittany Bell, Abby De La Rosa, Alyssa Scott, and LaNisha Cole.
Despite Tiesi's claim, it's important to note that there is no cap on child support under California law and that fathers, including Cannon, are legally required to support their children financially regardless of the number of children they have.
