Star Wars Episode VIII is out in the movie theaters
After a long wait, Star Wars Episode VIII is finally out, offering us a lot of unexpected turns and revelations. Since the fans’ favorite activity is to make suppositions and release theories, they have already started assuming what is going to happen in the currently-untitled Episode IX. Some of these theories have already gone viral and, of course, contain a lot of spoilers for The Last Jedi.
How will cope Kylo Ren with being the Supreme Leader?
One of the main events in Episode VIII was the death of First Order’s Supreme Leader Snoke at the hand of Kylo Ren. He had already started his quest to defeat the Rebels, after Rey refused his proposal to leave the past behind and rule the galaxy together.
Therefore, fans have started speculating how good of a leader would Kylo be. He is well-known for being impulsive, so ruling the First Order and the fight against the Rebellion might be a lot more difficult that he would have expected. Therefore, many fans think this will be his downfall.
Another major event in Episode VIII was the death of Luke Skywalker. This happened before he had the time to teach Rey the secrets of the Force, but her strength proved so big that she might not even need a teacher. However, Yoda has already returned as a Force ghost in this episode, so Luke might take the same form in Episode IX and continue to teach Rey.
Will Leia die in Episode IX?
Leia survived Episode VIII but, unfortunately, Carrie Fisher died at the end of last year. This leads to a logical deduction that she will die sometime during Episode IX, or maybe even before its action starts. Lucasfilm said it won’t recreate Leia using CGI, but there still might be some footage left which can be introduced in the film. It’s unclear what will happen, so we’ll have to wait and see.
In the end, the question that keeps bothering us is the matter of Rey’s parentage. Kylo Ren described them as ‘nobodies’, but this story isn’t reliable at all. She has way too much power to be ‘unimportant’, as Kylo called her, so she might be Leia’s or maybe Luke’s daughter. Others say she might be related to Obi-Wan Kenobi, and finding out the truth will prove the revelation of Episode IX.
