Who doesn’t love a great coffee and cookies? Starbucks is one of the most popular restaurants that serve coffee and sweets. Everybody has tried at least once a coffee from Starbucks. The problem is that at a Starbucks coffee shop is always crowded.
Starbucks has found a way to get rid of the crowd. Now you can place your order to a virtual assistant via voice or message. You won’t have to get in line to wait for your coffee. The virtual assistant takes your order and lets you decide whether or not you want to change it. After you decide you can pay online for the order.
You can also tell the virtual assistant from which location you want to order. The app lets you know how much you have to pay and how long it takes for your order to be prepared. This virtual assistant is just like the barista from the coffee shop. It is even better because it lets you change your mind many times.
This wouldn’t happen is a coffee shop where everybody is waiting in line to get their order. Nobody would wait for you to decide what you like. This is why this virtual assistant is better for people who like to do everything fast and without sitting in line.
Another great innovation that Starbucks wants to integrate is the Starbucks Reorder Skill. This is going to be available for Amazon’s Alexa. When you have the Starbucks app installed and you also have Alexa you can use Starbucks Reorder Skill. This skill is meant for people who order the same thing every day and it is going to make it easier for them. They will have to tell Alexa to order their Starbucks and the app will do so.
The virtual assistant is not available for everyone because it is still in its Beta version. Starbucks announced that the assistant is going to be available this summer for both iOS and Android users. The Reorder Skill is also going to be available then. Until this happens only a few lucky people will benefit from the skills of the virtual assistant.
What is your opinion about the Starbucks app? Do you think that people are going to place their order to the virtual assistant?
