World renowned astrophysicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking will be hosting the longest AMA (Ask Me Anything) session to date on Reddit, from Monday, July 27th, 8 AM all the way until Tuesday, August 4th. The event is sponsored by Nokia and Wired and it is bound to be the scientific event of the year.
Stephen Hawking will answer every single question that he will receive from those attending the conference and he will actually be taking his time. Because Reddit expected that people will have a massive amount of questions for one of the brightest minds on the planet, the AMA session was scheduled much longer than a regular AMA session, but during this time, Stephen Hawking will mostly be taking the questions.
Due to the fact that the answer process would be quite lengthy, because Hawking needs quite a bit of time to compose the answers with his assistive computer technology, he will be answering some of the questions on the spot and he will provide answers to the rest in the following weeks and make sure that they reach the correct recipient.
In order to make up for the inevitable delays that the assistive computer technology-based communication will entail, Stephen Hawking will be joined by special guests from the scientific community, such as Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson, which means that this Reddit AMA session will be a true scientific extravaganza for any science aficionado out there.
While the Anything part of the AMA theme of the session is aimed to be carried out in full, Stephen Hawking would like to center the discussion on the theme of artificial intelligence and the technology of tomorrow.
While the astrophysicist has shocked the entire world with his hypothesis that artificial intelligence might be what will bring on the end of the human race, this session is meant to identify the best ways of keeping safe from that, to find the best direction possible for science and technology to be guided towards, so that humanity can evolve in a safe environment.
The Reddit session can be used as a chance to discuss the implications of Stephen Hawking’s theory about artificial intelligence, to identify the risk points of this scenario, so that more people can fully grasp the extent of his theory.
This AMA session is a one in a lifetime chance for science lovers to get to talk to Stephen Hawking. So think about it, what would you ask one of the smartest people in the whole wide world? Think about it well and then make sure you’re there for the Reddit AMA session, so that you can get your answer.
