Magic leap a mysterious firm has released a new video on YouTube. Hinting at what the gaming will look like on the company’s holographic augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headset.
This secretive startup caught headlines when it received $542 million funding lead by Google.
The description of the video reads, “Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to TED, but we wanted to share one of the things that we’d planned to share at the talk. This is a game we’re playing around the office right now (no robots were harmed in the making of this video)”
“Just another day in office” is the title of the video.
It is a 95 second video clip which has grabbed a lot of attention. The video shows the user’s eye view of the magic leap office, where the user is sorting icons for Gmail and Yahoo.
The video shows the carousel style of navigation menu that can be flicked left and right. This is how the interface will look like in future.
The user activities in the video clip include, opening of a YouTube video, locking it into place above the desk, scrolling through the Gmail inbox, and a simple swipe to close off the application.
Magic Leap user is shown to launch a game called victory. In this game the user walks over to the table with replica blaster props and when the user is near to the table, the data and holographic elements appear above each blaster.
Then user launches the first person shooter game, where the user is seen shooting holographic elements using the physical blaster.
Form the video description it implies that the game can be played and it looks too good to be true.
