Aparna Chennapragada, director of Google Now announced that there are some changes on the way for Google Now.
Google Now is a notification system which draws data from several sources to bring you contextual messages useful in your current location.
Chennapragada said that the app needs to understand your context. It has to bring answers proactively, without you asking for it. It should also help you to take actions to improve the situation.
The team has been working on making all the above functions easier and expand to more data sources like the third party apps.
Now On Tap, is a new capability which provides more information than you can get before.
Google Now On Tap is a Help me, Google button.
For example if your wife texts you a message regarding dinner plans and that you need to pick up the dry cleaning. With the long press of the home button, you’ll be presented with information about restaurant and a prompt to create a reminder about dry cleaning.
So basically, user don’t need anything to do, Google Now On Tao will automatically gather information from what you’re currently viewing and give you relevant info about it.
Google Now was first launched in July 2012. It is a service that tries to present relevant information before you ask for it.
It does things by looking at things like your history, email, phone’s GPS data- for example, if you are in a restaurant or driving car- to suggest that might be useful like a menu item or directions to home.
Several tech giants are working on the nest generation search services. Apple has been trying to beef up its Siri digital assistance to make the service master.
