The application is worth over $2 billion.
On Friday it has released the information of the attack on its blog post, it said, “We were recently able to confirm that there was unauthorized access to a Slack database storing user profile information. We have since blocked this unauthorized access and made additional changes to our technical infrastructure to prevent future incidents.”
It said that it has accessed the information from the user database. The user database stores the username, email address and encrypted password.
But it said that the hackers didn’t decrypt the password or any financial payment information.
According to the blog post, there have been four attacks in February.
There has also been some suspicious activity in small number of account and they have been informed immediately.
To beef up its security it has released two new features, including the two-factor authentication and a new team wide password kill switch that will instantly reset the passwords of all team members.
