Instagram has hit the magic number of 400 million users per month, making the Facebook-owned social network platform far bigger than its main competitor Twitter, with the major website wanting to increase its advertising earnings from the client support options.
In the last year, the photo-sharing application earned more than 100 million users, among these being celebrities from sport, TV, Movie industry, music and other forms of entertainment, as one of Instagram’s spokesmen wrote in a short article earlier this week.
In the multitude of tens of millions of users to join in the recent months, over half of them reside in European countries and Asia, with South America, Japan and Philippines including the majority of new Instagrammers. The application stated that more than 75% of its customers are from outside of the United States.
The newest figures will be a big increase for Facebook, as it seems to generate a serious part of its total income from Instagram. The global social network has lately presented a series of functions, such as subsidized content and is getting ready to present this focused ads too. Marketing income produced by Instagram will reach almost $600 million only in 2015, and get over 140 % to achieve $1.45 billion dollars during next year, as reports from the financial world have shown. Instagram advertising income will represent almost 14% of Facebook’s entire ad income in 2017, according to several economical forecasts, proving how important the image-sharing app will be for Facebook’s role in the immense online market.
Instagram is the social network’s only other entirely owned system that provides advertising services and it is perceived in a favorable manner by prospective customers, experts said. The photo sharing application platform gets a different type of viewers so this entices promoters and they are marketing it as an individual product and as a promotional channel.
The reviews that it had from press customers on Instagram have been very good and its owners think that they are going to get their major earnings on Instagram increase very easily. Facebook has a series of separate applications and all of them have been rapidly developing. Messenger has more than 700 million customers, while WhatsApp, the most important messaging app on Facebook obtained $19 billion dollars last year, and lately reached 900 million active users per month.
Instagram’s development arrived in a moment when public networking company Twitter is having difficulties to attract customers to its system. This micro blogging platform revealed a few months ago that its number of effective users per month figures reached 315 million in the first half of this year, a growth of 15 % compared to the same period of 2014.
The company’s representatives admitted that they were not happy with Twitter’s user development. Experts said that the micro blogging site’ reduced market share was not only about the growth of competitors like Instagram and Snapchat, but more about an incorrect business structure.
The issues about Twitter are more common and it is not about the rivals per se, it is because while its development was delayed, other public networking, messaging and emailing services.
