Facebook has come up with the new update called “On This Day”.
This new feature is expected to roll out soon, where users are allowed to see the photos, status, posts on this date in the past.
These posts, photos will be accessible is an On This Day bookmark. Posts will be shown up in the individuals news feed.
This is similar to the TimeHop mobile app where it brings up memory from several social media accounts like Twitter, Tumbler, Facebook. It has approximately 6 million users.
This feature is only visible to the individual user and if they like to share it with their friends then this feature also makes it possible to share their own content with friends and family.
Facebook back in December has introduced search option where the posts can be searched based on the keywords given.
In December Facebook has been widely criticized for its “My Year In Review” feature where an individual’s most popular posts and photos are compiled over the last year. This has brought painful memories of house accidents, fire etc live which has forced Facebook to make an apology.
But this didn’t stopped Google, and this new algorithm makes sure that those friends who have died appear nor will romantic partners.
