Many previous studies have established the positive effects of herbal medicine in treating severe form of diseases. A new study has found that the chances of curing serious disease like breast cancer can also be increased using a herbal medicine.

According to the researchers, rosehip extract can tremendously help in fighting against breast cancer.

Breast cancer, which is affecting more and more women, is one of the most difficult and aggressive type of cancer to treat.

Some researchers believe that the ER+ breast cancer is least responsive to the chemotherapy treatment.

For the study, the researchers applied concentrated rosehip extracts to the cancerous cells and found them less resistant to the treatment process of chemotherapy. Moreover, the rates of migration were also slashed down considerably by up to 45 percent.

“Such findings have raised questions regarding the long and short term post-intervention effects of these two regimens on breast cancer,” according to the study authors.

Patrick Martin, study lead author and associate professor at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, said if the treatment with the rose plant extract proves to be successful then it could be used in the form of vitamin tablet for the prevention of cancer or treat the condition.

With the help of gene analyses, the team discovered that the activation of the UPR pro-survival pathway among the sufferers of African-American region was boosted in comparison to other victims.

“How awesome would certainly it be to be able to state, Here, take an everyday vitamin tablet from the rose plant to possibly help prevent or treat cancer?  It’s an organic product that we found to be reliable, with no recognized side effects” said Martin.

Concluding the study, the researchers said that herbs can definitely play a significant role in treating cancerous cells.
