Jeep CEO Mike Manley said Jeep is now getting back into the pickup truck game and we can see some of it in future. If it is so then the pickup truck would be modeling the jeep’s popular wrangler. Jeep has unveiled a new pickup based wrangler concept model Red Rock Responders, at the 49th Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, this roughly gives an idea how the future pickup truck would be.
The pickup truck concept is among the several other concepts which the company has introduced today, but this is something not ordinary as this is a non-SUV design.
The concept is good but again it presents some of the potential problems to the automaker and transition requires much background work and many complications so hoping that this will not give headaches to the company.
“I am a huge fan of a pickup truck in the Jeep brand. Not just because of the history — it has been part of our history over the years — but also because it is one of the top subjects of topics that we have for discussion with our customers.” Manley said.
Some of the features of the Red Rock Responders are LED headlights and fog lamps, off-road lamps, and A-pillar lamps. 37-inch BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 tires, a 4-inch JPP lift, Fox shocks, both axles are Dana 60s, there’s cold-air intake, off-road rails, Warn winch, side cargo boxes, accessory kit, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, soft tool bags, a recovery kit, Mopar Katzkin leather seats, a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, and auto transmission.
