The Prevention Research Center of Illinois found out that delicious pies such as pizza are loaded with calories, salt, and saturated fat, considering these kinds of foods that make more American children fat. Lisa Powel, director of the organization and her entire team conducted a study, surveying kids ages 2 to 19 from 2003 until 2010 about their diets. Thus, the study boiled down to a common finding – eating too much pizza.
Powel reiterated that parents must aim at curbing their children’s pizza consumption, especially during snack hours and allot their money towards healthier brands. The study also found out that children eat pizza than adults more frequently. Children tend to consume at least 136 calories every day from pizza alone, aside from other calorie sources like cookies and cakes.
