US telecom holding firm Spring Corp. has introduced co-branded stores of RadioShack Corporation as the retail stores is planning to offer the customers with improved industry-exclusive services such as prepaid deals for Boost and Virgin Mobile, leasing programs and specially designed unlimited plans.
With the launch, the company also eyes revival of the flagging RadioShack brand as well as two-fold rise of its operations across the United States.
General Wireless managed to buy 1,743 stores of RadioShack earlier this year after a Standard General affiliate. Sprint has turned as a co-tenant of one-third of the stores of the electronics retailer.
The new co-branded retail stores will provide mobile devices of Sprint in prepaid and postpaid services, plus premium plans for Samsung Elect Ltd’s (F) (OTCMKTS:SSNLF) Galaxy S6. The stores will also display Sprint’s “store within a store” concept, which is focused on improving the store experience for customers.
Scott Sloat, spokesperson for Sprint, said that the rebranding as well as store concept is likely to be implemented across all branches. However, the process will take time.
Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure said, “Our new products and services are resonating with customers – they’re coming to our stores to switch to Sprint through our Cut Your Bill in Half offer, take advantage of our industry-first leasing plans, and shop for new devices.”
“Customers value the ability to walk into a neighborhood Sprint store near where they live and work. With more stores, and including Boost and Virgin Mobile, we’re providing additional shopping opportunities and making it easier and more convenient for consumers to do business with us,” Claure said in a statement.
The telecommunication firm believes that its expansion program would not only help in the build up of stronger communities, but also create new job opportunities. The company will commence the hiring process of 3,500 full-time and part-time workers. The rebranding of RadioShack stores is expected to be completed after mid-2015.
