Three students have been injured following a Nashville mass shooting that occurred on Tuesday night, near Tennesse State University (TSU).
According to law enforcement, the incident took place during a house party, in the 3200 block of Albion Street, across the street from the TSU campus. Three men who had wanted to attend the homecoming event were denied entrance by the hosts.
In response, the unwelcome guests opened fire into the 200-odd crowd that was celebrating outside the house. After firing several random shots, they immediately fled the scene of the crime. As Lieutenant Danny Haley reported, police arrived in the neighborhood at 12:35 a.m., in response to several 911 calls that had been made by partygoers.
Following the gun attack, 3 local college students have been injured, and one of the victims is still in very critical condition, after having been shot in the head. The identity of the struggling patient has not been officially revealed by police.
However, according to family members, his name is Calvin Scott, and he is a 20-year old student at Middle Tennessee State University. He is currently hospitalized at Vandebilt University Medical Center. While the injured man had a gun on him when he was wounded, police believe he didn’t actually get to fire his weapon.
The two other victims have sustained non-life-threatening wounds. Chase Stevenson, a 19-year old TSU student, suffered a gunshot would to his backside, and has been receiving medical treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Aaron Bachelor, a 20-year old student at Nashville State Community College, was shot in his left arm. After being treated at the TriStar Centennial Medical Center, he has already been released from hospital.
Meanwhile, the three fugitives who committed the mass shooting are still at large. Apparently, one suspect is a black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 220 pounds. He has a fade hairstyle, and he was last seen wearing beige pants and a grey hoodie.
Another one of the wanted criminals is a black male, around 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighing circa 160 pounds. He was wearing dreadlocks and a purple hoodie. The third man hasn’t been described as thoroughly, but it appears he too was black, and had a green hoodie on.
Police are still investigating the incident, and are asking those who have any information regarding this shooting to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
