Allegedly, Gainey confronted the man about his interest in the female beer pong player. At one point, the suspect told his friend to step outside to continue the argument.
The victim told the authorities that after arguing with Gainey, he got in his car. However, Gainey pounded on his window in an attempt to get him out. When he tried to drive away, Gainey blocked the exist with his car.
Upon leaving the house, Gainey chased him and opened fire from inside his vehicle. The victim told the authorities that he returned fire.
