USPS to Discontinue Mailing Options at End of June
Changes are coming again from the USPS as it discontinues some of its mailing options at the end of June. One of these is the Corporate Account, or USPSCA, which allows businesses to “charge and track Priority Mail Express shipments to one account.” This service will be closed permanently on July 1, and those with outstanding balances on their account are advised to pay before that date. In an effort to reduce costs, the USPS is seeking discontinuation of USPSCA services, and customers will no longer be able to save money on postage rates and mailing services using this option.
With this change, customers are encouraged to switch to alternative payment methods, such as Click-N-Ship, USPS Ship, Electronic Verification Symptoms, ePostage, PC Postage or Meter. Other mailing changes include the withdrawal of several stamps from sale, which will be destroyed by postal offices, stations, branches, and authorized philatelic centers. The stamps under discontinuation include the August Wilson, Emilio Sanchez, and Shel Silverstein series, the Missouri Statehood stamp, and the Espresso Drinks booklet.
However, postal authorities note that new stamp designs are in the offing, including the addition of a waterfalls design on June 13th. This collection features 12 new stamps with striking images of popular waterfalls in different US states. In addition, other upcoming postal stamps include a John Lewis tribute stamp and a collection honoring Life Magnified, as well as a Thinking of You collection and a bridge design.
