Rickey Fievez, the 48-year-old Washington man who was critically injured last week by a carjacker gunned down by a pastor, remains in the hospital’s ICU. A hospital’s spokesperson declared that Fievez lost part of his pancreas, his spleen, and is unable to move his limbs.
Washington Man Shot Two Times by Carjacker Shot by Pastor
Tyler Fievez, Rickey’s son, recalls the dreadful moments after learning that his father may never walk again. According to Tyler, his father had a bright future ahead of him.
An ex-con, the Washington man, had just been discharged from prison. A Washington Department of Corrections spokesperson confirmed that Fievez served several years in prison for drug possession.
After getting out, Fievez, who just turned 48-year-old, managed to land a lucrative job – a newly-opened position at a local fencing company. More than that, according to the company’s owner, the Washington man was only months away from getting a promotion.
Unfortunately, Fievez’s life would completely change on Friday night. According to Tyler, his father was on his way home from work, when he stopped in Tumwater to drop off one of his co-workers.
Rickey remained near his vehicle, talking to his co-worker when he noticed that someone was trying to break open the passenger door.
According to the authorities, the Washington man confronted the carjacker. The suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Tim O. Day, drew out his gun and fired two shots toward Fievez.
Conclusion
David George, a Washington pastor, was just leaving Walmart when he witnessed Day firing upon Fievez. George, who has a license to carry a concealed weapon, rushed to the scene and opened fire on Day. The suspect was declared dead at the scene.
Fievez was taken to the hospital and placed on full life support. After his encounter with Day, Fievez’s only able to nod his head and to blink. He also lost his spleen and a significant part of his pancreas.
