It’s a well-known fact that weddings should be happy occasions. Well, apparently not for a Virginia Beach couple, who will forever remember their wedding as the day they had to call their friends to ask about their gifts. According to the not-so-happy couple, this happened because a wedding crashed swiped all money envelopes.
Wedding Crasher Wore a Sweatshirt And Shorts, Police Declared
Meet Rusty and Auttumn Waddell, a couple from Virginia Beach with quite a story to tell. The newlyweds said that their wedding nearly turned into a disaster soon after Rusty realized that someone stole all the gifts envelops.
The Waddells’ story begins on the 6th of May, aka the day of their wedding. Auttumn recalls that everything went like clockwork – the guests were toasting the happy couple and the hour of the actual wedding drew even closer.
However, after the wedding was over, Waddell’s mother went to her daughter to ask about a woman who was apparently hanging near the gift table.
According to Waddell, the woman did not draw any attention, at first. Being an informal event, no one batted an eye to a partygoer dressed up in shorts and a sweatshirt.
It wasn’t long before someone realized that the woman was not on the list. Luckily, Waddell’s mother took a picture of the suspicious wedding crasher before she bolted.
Later that day, the couple realized that the unknown woman stole every last gift envelope. Auttumn said that the envelopes probably contained cash, cheques, and shopping coupons.
As for Rusty, he actually had to call all party guests to ask them about their gifts.
At the moment, Virginia Beach law enforcement agents are doing their based to identify the wedding crasher using Waddell’s mother’s smartphone picture.
Despite the setback, the wedding got back on track.
