A former Delta Airlines passenger has decided to file a lawsuit against the Seattle-based company over an incident that took place in April 2016 during the Settle – Amsterdam flight. According to the grievance, the woman was groped over the night by a male passenger seated next to her and that the flight crew treated the issue in a superfluous manner.
Woman Says Passenger Groped Her During Delta Airlines Flight
On Tuesday, Allison Dvaladze, a University of Washington employee, has filed a lawsuit against Delta Airlines, accusing the staff of superficially treating issues such as sexual harassment. According to Dvaladze, back in April 2016, after she boarded the over-night Seattle – Amsterdam flight, she was seated next to an individual.
At one point during the night, the aggressor allegedly grabbed the woman by the crotch and continued holding her despite the woman asking him to stop. Fortunately, Dvaladze managed to escape her aggressor and ran straight to one of the flight attendants who took her to the captain.
According to Dvaladze’s recollection of the events, even though the flight crew appeared sympathetic, some told her that these kinds of things happen on over-night flights and that she would do best to put the event out of her mind.
The woman managed to exchange seats for the duration of the flight but, upon landing, one of the flight attendants asked her to return to her original place. The woman refused, argued with the flight attendant, and was disembarked.
On Tuesday, Dvaladze declared that ever since the incident, she had the time to do a little research about these incidents and discovered, much to her bewilderment, that she wasn’t the first or the last female passenger sexually assaulted during a Delta Airlines flight.
A Delta representative declared that the company is currently investigating the woman’s allegations.
